Heralding one of 2016’s most eagerly awaited releases, Meghan Trainor’s brand new single “NO” makes its world premiere this morning.
After its radio debut this am on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, the song will be played every hour on the hour today across all iHeart Radio pop formatted stations. This is the very first release from the GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum pop superstar’s mega-anticipated second full-length album, Thank You [Epic Records]— available everywhere on Friday, May 13th, 2016. The album’s online pre-order goes live today and will grant an immediate download of “NO.” Pre-order it HERE.
“NO” shows a different side of the singer altogether, illuminating the expanse and confidence inherent in her powerhouse voice while showing off her songwriting prowess. Strutting between a nineties-style hip-hop bounce and an untouchable and unshakable chorus, it’s a feisty, fiery, and fun anthem that’ll get everybody singing, “NO.” She teamed up with producer Ricky Reed [Jason Derulo, Pitbull, Twenty One Pilots] for the track. Thank You is executive produced by Meghan Trainor and Ricky Reed.
The premiere of “NO” happens just weeks after Meghan’s win at the 2016 GRAMMY® Awards. She received the prestigious “Best New Artist” award, making for her first victory at the ceremony. Next up, she will be profiled on CBS Sunday Morning March 6 for her first sit down TV interview since the GRAMMYS®. Tune in to see an in-depth look at how she became one of today’s most successful singer/songwriters and so much more at 9am-10:30am this Sunday.
On the horizon, she’s nominated for a string of 2016 awards. At the iHeartRadio Music Awards where she will also perform, Meghan is up for “Female Artist of the Year” and “Best Collaboration” for “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” with John Legend. At the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, she received nods for “Favorite Female Singer” and “Favorite Collaboration” for “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.”
Meghan continues to break records, make history, inspire countless fans, and change the landscape of pop music and culture. She began 2016 by winning “Favorite Album” for her chart-dominating RIAA platinum full-length debut, Title [Epic Records], at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards. Last year, Title not only bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, but it became the “First #1 full-length debut from a female solo artist in five years.” It stood out as “One of only seven albums to sell over a million copies in 2015.” It also yielded four inescapable multiplatinum Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 smashes—“All About That Bass” (9x-platinum), “Lips Are Movin” (4x-platinum), “Dear Future Husband” (2x-platinum), and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” [featuring John Legend] (2x-platinum). Title was the #5 most streamed album globally in 2015 and currently has over 900 million streams worldwide. Meghan also has over 2 billion video views on VEVO.
For Meghan Trainor, it all started with “All About That Bass.” The song introduced her to the world, and she became a household name in the process. A bona fide cultural phenomenon “All About That Bass” spent eight weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the “longest-running Hot 100 #1 by an Epic Records artist” and “longest-running Got 100 #1 by a female artist in 2014.” Its influence continued long after its release, scoring “Top Hot 100 Song” and “Top Digital Song” at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards as well as the 2015 ASCAP Pop Music Award for “Most Performed Song.” The breakout hit was nominated for “Song Of The Year” and “Record Of The Year” at the 2015 GRAMMY® Awards. In addition, she received three American Music Awards nominations and three Teen Choice Awards nominations. An explosive performer, her headlining MTrain Tour packed venues across the U.S. during the summer in 2015.
Microsoft announces that hip hop trio Big Grams will incorporate Kinect powered visuals into its upcoming live performance at the inaugural Okeechobee Music Festival on March 6, which will feature tracks from the band’s self-titled debut. Custom made by new media and entertainment company V Squared Labs, a dynamic interactive backdrop will use Microsoft Kinect’s motion sensing technology to complement Big Grams’ eclectic and energetic performance.
Vello Virkhaus, CEO & Creative Director of V Squared Labs, says of the project, “The creative idea behind the Big Grams show was to transform the artists’ physical movements into experience visuals. We did this by utilizing Touch Designer and Microsoft’s Kinect technology.”
“The exciting thing about Kinect’s motion sensing technology is that it can be customized to the artist for a unique and highly personalized performance,” said Steve Milton, Founding Partner of We are Listen who worked with Microsoft to document Big Grams’ use of the technology.
“It’s a great complement to innovative artists like Big Grams who are looking to create a transformative and unexpected experience for their fans.”
Big Grams is a collaboration between seven-time Grammy winner and founding member of Outkast Big Boi and the eclectic indie duo Phantogram. The band’s unlikely alliance was formed after Big Boi heard Phantogram’s “Mouthful of Diamonds” in a pop-up ad and blogged about it on his website, leading Phantogram to contact him. The trio recently released their self-titled debut album (Epic Records) to critical acclaim.
Big Grams’ performance at Okeechobee is the latest in a series of artist collaborations featured on MUSIC x TECHNOLOGY, an online destination for ideas at the intersection of music and technology, curated by Microsoft. Monthly content features new artist collaborations with behindthescenes access on how the music experiences came to life through technology.
Phantogram previously used the Microsoft Kinect in a midnight show at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. Creative technologist Blair Neal used custom technology to generate images onto the band’s bodies while simultaneously showing a real time projection map of their moving silhouettes on the stage background.

Judas Priest’s tour in support of their 17th studio album overall, Redeemer of Souls, was one of the most extensive of the group’s entire career – consisting of 130 shows in 33 countries, and offering a setlist that touched upon selections from nearly all of their classic albums. And now, fans can relive the live Priest experience once more, with the release of the new CD/DVD/Blu-ray, Battle Cry, on March 25th, 2016, via Epic Records (preview available for viewing HERE).
Recorded live on August 1st, 2015 at Germany’s Wacken Festival in front of an audience of 85,000, Battle Cry is available on a 15-track CD, with the entire show on Blu-ray and DVD (running over 94 minutes), as well as digital audio and video formats. The DVD and Blu-ray also contains 3 bonus tracks shot in Poland on December 10th, 2015 at The Ergo Arena, Gdansk, Poland.
What makes the show’s track listing so appealing is it balances new classics (“Dragonaut,” “Halls of Valhalla,” “Redeemer of Souls”) along with headbanging classics (“Metal Gods,” “Electric Eye,” “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming”), as well as key album tracks from yesteryear (“Devil’s Child,” “Beyond the Realms of Death,” “Jawbreaker”).
Originally formed during the early ’70s in Birmingham, England, Priest is responsible for offering metal fans worldwide some of the genre’s most influential and landmark albums (1980’s ‘British Steel,’ 1982’s ‘Screaming for Vengeance,’ 1990’s ‘Painkiller,’ etc.), while helping spread metal music to audiences not normally associated with the genre (Live Aid in 1985, and a surprise appearance on American Idol in 2011), and helping popularize the now instantly recognizable “denim and leather” look.
For decades, Judas Priest has been one of the greatest live bands in the entire heavy metal genre. And as evidenced by Battle Cry, Priest rock harder and more ferociously than ever.
