MULTI-PLATINUM SONGWRITING AND PRODUCTION TEAM CAPTAIN CUTS RELEASE DEBUT SINGLE “LOVE LIKE WE USED TO” FEATURING NATEUR

(Oct. 13, 2016 – New York, NY) – Multi-platinum songwriting, production, and remix team Captain Cuts release their debut single “Love Like We Used To” [feat. Nateur] today via Epic Records. Listen to it HERE.

Today, the group—Ben Berger, Ryan McMahon, and Ryan Rabin (drummer & producer, Grouplove)—exclusively debuted the song on Neon Gold.

After penning and/or producing major smashes such as Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance,” Grouplove’s “Tongue Tied,” and more, the song represents the trio’s bold transition from behind-the-scenes into the spotlight. An upbeat and undeniable anthem, “Love Like We Used To” merges energetic production with a show-stopping vocal feature from fellow songwriter and frequent collaborator Nateur aka Nate Cyphert. It’s also the perfect introduction to Captain Cuts as artists.

The single’s music video premieres on VEVO later this month, while it begins impacting Pop radio on October 31.

Known for their explosive monthly Emo Nite sets, Captain Cuts return to the stage of the Echoplex in Silverlake, Los Angeles on Tuesday November 1.

Be on the lookout for more from Captain Cuts soon.

It’s very possible you’ve already sung along to a Captain Cuts song. Since their 2010 formation, the award-winning multiplatinum-certified songwriting, production, and remix team has left an indelible mark on pop music. The lifelong friends and Los Angeles natives co-wrote the inescapable triple-platinum “Shut Up and Dance” with Walk The Moon, Halsey’s “Roman Holiday,” Tove Lo’s “Crave,” and more as well as songs for Bebe Rexha, Jennifer Lopez, Tegan and Sara, and many others. They’ve also done official remixes for the likes of Britney Spears, Imagine Dragons, and Ellie Goulding, to name a few. The trio broke genre barriers, mashing up turn-of-the-century emo and rock staples from Blink-182, Paramore, and Say Anything with current pop hits from Fetty Wap, Selena Gomez, and Drake on the 2015 mixtape If You’re Listening It’s Never Too Late and earning praise from Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, Billboard, and Alternative Press, along the way. After a meeting with the Epic Records A&R team, L.A. Reid heard “Love Like We Used To” and personally signed them as artists, kicking off their next evolution.

“A synth-laced, trench-coat-cinematically-billowing-as-you-run-around-the-city-streets kind indie pop. But isn’t that the sweet spot? The rub between zippy melodies and lyrics that chip away at life’s melancholic little moments.” – Noisey

“..upon hearing the pop-tinged tracks, you begin to make sense of James and Trullie’s shared knack for lyricism and songwriting.” – NYLON

..”Feral, unrelenting rock music with a hardcore glean in its eye, there’s a hint of pop in those synths which helps the medicine go down.” – Clash Magazine (UK)
